Pictured here is a 70s Rick Surfboards single fin that looks to be in decent shape.
Rick Surfboards was started by Rick Stoner in 1961, according to Last Wave Originals. For a long time the head shaper at Rick Surfboards was none other than Phil Becker, who went onto a long and illustrious shaping career of his own. Rick remains one of the more recognizable California surfboard labels of its time, and I am a sucker for their clean logos.
This particular board can be found on Craigslist in Orange County, California. For $250 I think it’s quite a reasonable price, although there are some dings on the board. Pressure dings on the deck are clearly visible in the pics, and head over to the Craigslist post for pictures of the work that has been done on the nose and tail. Still, there’s little to no discoloration on the deck, and overall, it’s just a sweet 70s single fin from a recognizable brand.
