Greetings, Shredderz! Per the usual, here’s a summary of some of the cooler things I’ve found on Instagram recently.
This is an older post, but hey, I don’t discriminate when it comes to getting a peek inside the fertile mind of George Greenough. The photo was posted by Ryan Lovelance, who I’m guessing had an audience with Greenough at some point. This is one of the better Greenough quiver shots I’ve ever seen. Check out those edge board designs! There’s an excellent write up on Greenough’s edge board by Marc Andreini on the Liquid Salt website. Back to Lovelace’s photo: unfortunately, it leaves me with more questions than answers, but what can you do. For another cool Greenough inspired edge board, check out this earlier post.
Larry Bertlemann and Phil Byrne at the 1977 Stubbies contest at Burleigh Heads. Sadly, no photographer credit was given for this shot. Love the angle and the close up of Larry’s insane board!
If, like me, you dig colorful quivers, it’s harder to do much better than this selection of 80s Schroff sticks. Long live Echo Beach!
Last but not least we have Herbie Fletcher in an advertisement for Off Shore clothing. Off Shore has been a staple of the Sagas of Shred series here on the blog but this Herbie ad is new to me.
Featured photo shows Dave Rastovich riding a George Greenough shaped edge board at Cloudbreak. Photo by Nick Liotta and originally found on Liquid Salt.
