Greetings, Shredderz! The Weekend Grab Bag is back. By know I hope you know the rules: every board featured below is currently for sale somewhere on the internet. We’ve got an eclectic set of sleds today, so keep scrolling for the full run down.
Flecky Bat Tail Single Fin (Craigslist San Diego)
While the seller describes this board as a Flecky surfboard, I suspect it might be the work of Mike Zeh-Croteau. I posted these same pics on Instagram earlier, although people seem to be divided about whether this was a Flecky shape or a Croteau. Either way this thing is so sick — looks like it’s got a healthy amount of volume, and I love the bat tail and mini channels in the back. The board is listed for $200 and dims are 6’6″ x 20″ x 2 1/2″.
Mike Olivares Rocket Fish (Craigslist Los Angeles)
Here is a super clean Mike Olivares twin fin rocket fish. It has Clyde Beatty Jr logos, but if you click through to the Craigslist ad, you’ll see it was clearly signed by Olivares, who used to shape for Zephyr and Con Surfboards. And for all the people of culture out there, it has not one but two weed leafs glassed on. This thing is remarkably clean; the listing says it was kept in garage for 20 or 30 years but I’m wondering if isn’t from the 70s or 80s. Only dim that’s given is 6’2″.
- Morey Pope John Peck Penetrator (Craigslist SF Bay Area). The board is 9’10” and the original Slipcheck is in great shape; seller is asking $3K.
- 6’6″ Liddle single fin for trade (Craigslist Los Angeles). I actually wrote up this board a few years back; it’s got a killer and unusual logo.
