Greetings, Shredderz! There’s currently a very rad Larry Bertlemann hand shape available on eBay, which I thought was worthy of a brief write up. You can find the listing here.

Bertlemann AKA Da Rubberman remains one of surfing’s most photogenic surfers. Bertlemann’s style extended beyond his radical, skate-inspired surfing. His boards were frequently emblazoned with a distinctive, so-called Pepsi airbrush, thanks to its swooping red, white and blue lines. See an example below (photo by the late, great Art Brewer).
The eBay board is fascinating for a few reasons. First, it has a pretty unusual Olympic rings logo, which I have only seen on a handful of other Bertlemann boards.
Second, the board has some fascinating design elements. It measures in at 6’8″ x 19″ x 2 3/4″. If you look at the photos below you can see some unique channels in the tail. I’ve never seen a Bertlemann board with similar channels.

The board is signed “LB” towards the tail, which is consistent with other boards described as Bertlemann hand shapes that I have seen.
Check out the listing on eBay here.
