Noserider Nerds Unite: Monday Grab Bag

Greetings, Shredderz! There are a couple of cool longboards currently for sale online, and I figured I’d alert you fine folks to some of the sticks that caught my eye over the weekend.

9’1″ Jim Phillips Longboard (OfferUp)

This one is a little small for me but dang that glass job just pops. I’ve always been intrigued by Phillips and his boards, but haven’t had the chance to ride one yet myself. Seller is asking $1,000.

9’8″ Balsa Hap Jacobs Longboard Shaped by Wayne Rich (Craigslist Orange County)

This is a stunning board with some next level details. Check out the listing for close ups of the wooden fin and the nose block. According to the seller the board was shaped by Wayne Rich. I don’t have any way to verify this but it does line up with Rich’s time at the storied South Bay label.

9’9″ Clark Foam John Kies Longboard (OfferUp)

I don’t know if this board qualifies as vintage, but as I do the mental math, I figure the board has to be about twenty years old. Damn, I’m not young any more. I’m a sucker for anything shaped from a Clark Foam blank, and the board was also made at Diamond Glassing, which was a fixture in San Diego before its closure. Set aside all the random trivia (which I obviously love) and you have a longboard from a well regarded shaper priced at $750. This seems like a purchase where you’re likely to get your money’s worth. I haven’t seen the board in person though so standard caveats apply.
