A Stunning Andreini Vaquero

Every once in a while, the Craigslist gods bless us with a killer board accompanied by pics that do it justice. Here’s a stunning 7’7″ Andreini Vaquero that was custom ordered from Marc back in 2019, and has sat in storage for the past five years. It’s currently listed for sale on Craigslist in San Diego, and the seller is asking $1,250.

I’ve been a fan of Marc’s boards for a few years now. The first Andreini I purchased — and still own — is a 9′ Serena. Lately I haven’t been riding it as much, but I still like to take it out when the conditions call for it. If you haven’t yet, I recommend checking out “Here Now: Past & Present”, a Shred Sledz Original Film featuring Marc’s Vaquero design.

This particular Vaquero is somehow both subtle and slick. There’s no resin tint, so at first glance it appears pretty straightforward, but between the Volan patch on the deck and the custom T Band stringer, it pops. I particularly love the stringer in contrast with the rest of the board.

The price also strikes me as on the reasonable side. I’m not sure what Marc charges for a custom these days, but when you take out taxes and the inevitable wait time, I think the $1,250 for this board is pretty attractive, especially considering the condition and the aesthetic touches.
